A year after thru hiking the Hayduke I still had not had my fill of the desert southwest and returned to the area for another long hike. This time I undertook the Grand Enchantment Trail, which runs from Phoenix, Arizona to Albuquerque, New Mexico through the desert and mountains in between. Despite a lot of spiky plants separating the two cities and a late spring snow storm, my hike was successful.
